Work has begun on the world’s most ambitious hybrid electricity project in remote Western Australia, with early measurements of wind speed and solar irradiance across a project footprint the size of Greater Sydney.
The Western Green Energy Hub (WGEH), a joint venture proposal of InterContinental Energy, CWP Global and Mirning Green Energy Limited, is slated for 15,000 square metres on the Nullarbor Plain near the South Australian border.
