Green energy hub near Eucla granted lead agency status

The State Government has granted an ambitious green energy project targeting the production of hydrogen near Eucla lead agency status.

Located north of Eucla, InterContinental Energy’s Western Green Energy Hub is one of three green hydrogen and ammonia projects across the State set to receive lead agency services from the McGowan Government.

Infrastructure for the planned project would be built over a 15-year period and it is expected to produce up to 50 gigawatts of hybrid wind and solar power, which will be used to produce up to 3.5 million tonnes of hydrogen or 20 million tonnes of green ammonia annually.
